The groups for ASUS Winter 2010 have been drawn and we now know how the thirty-two teams have been divided.
ASUS Winter 2010 will be staged this Tuesday in Moscow, at the Click-Net LAN center. The tournament will kick off in a group stage, with eight groups of four teams, where top two finishing teams will advance to the playoffs. The playoffs will be played in a best-of-one map single-elimination format, when reaching the semi-finals, the teams will be playing best-of-three maps instead, which will also be the format in the Grand Final.
While the groups were drawn earlier today, a report from Moscow states that the Ukrainian team KerchNET will not make it to Moscow. The team was told to get off the train at the Russian/Ukrainian border, as the team was not allowed entrance into Russia, due to passport issues. No replacement will drop in, meaning one group consist of just three teams.
